5 Tech Tips for Every Teacher – Workshop

Your Durham ETFO Occasional Teachers’ Local is pleased to announce the following professional learning opportunity:

5 Tech Tips for Every Teacher and Inquiry Lessons Using Google Earth

Presenters:  Ryan Tindale, Think Smarter

When the Ontario Social Studies, History, and Geography curriculum adopted more of an inquiry approach, students got the opportunity to go exploring! Google Earth is the tool that takes your grade 4’s to the Mayan Ruins, or lets your grade 5”s trace the Viking’s path to NFLD and then use street view to examine the first Viking settlement. Ryan will share these and other ideas from his cover story article in the Winter 2016 edition of ETFO Voice. He will show you at least one inquiry lesson for each grade from 4 – 8 and also offer a layout of the program.  In addition Ryan will share 5 Tech Must Have’s for Teachers. Many can be clicked on by OT’s or used in unit plans by LTOs. Climb aboard his Magic School Bus and come on an adventure!
