The Durham District School Board and your ETFO Durham Occasional Teachers’ Local invite you to join presenter Tina Thomas, Equity and Inclusive Education Facilitator (DDSB), in this important workshop addressing equity and inclusion through literacy.
Picture books are a wonderful tool to engage students in the love of literature, as well as a way of addressing equity and inclusion issues. This workshop will provide activities on how to use culturally responsive teaching approaches to integrate equity and inclusion based themes and books into your literacy program.
Participants will receive a sample book, Sarla in the Sky, by Anjali Joshi, and have an opportunity to share best practices with their colleagues.
