Supporting Equity and English Language Learners in the Mathematics Classroom
The DDSB and your ETFO Durham Occasional Teachers’ Local are pleased to offer this mathematics related workshop. Presenter Chrystal Marolt, K-6 Literacy and Numeracy Facilitator, DDSB, will use the book, English Learners in the Mathematics Classroom, by Debra Coggins, to explore this topic. Participants will receive a copy of the text.
This session will review effective strategies and resources that support being inclusive in the Mathematics classroom. It will review teaching strategies that support our English language learners and discuss the importance of oral language within the Mathematics classroom. The book English Learners in the Mathematics Classroom, by Debra Coggins, will be featured and provided for all participants.
