Autism and the Brain

This workshop will explore the neurological differences in students with a diagnosis of ASD.  We will examine anatomical differences and how the brain is wired in individuals with ASD.  Understanding these differences will lead to better insight as to how individuals with ASD process information and learn.  It will also help gain a better understanding of behaviour and how we can optimize programming for students based on their neurodiversity.  Recommendations will be provided that address the learning characteristics of individuals with ASD, highlighting their strengths and addressing areas that may be more challenging in a classroom environment.
