Behaviour as a Function of Communication

This workshop will support Occasional Teachers in developing an understanding of behaviour as a form of communication.  Students have varying abilities to communicate their needs at any given moment.  When struggling to self-regulate, this becomes an even greater challenge.  Teachers will learn some basic strategies to support positive behaviour, will better understand what some given behaviours may be indicating, learn how to collect data around behaviour in order to respond, and learn some basic principles of Behaviour Management Systems theories.
