Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) Training

This is the second BMS Training this school year.  All those members who were on the wait list have had the opportunity to register for this training. At this time we still have 12 spots open. Interested?  Please follow the registration procedure noted below.

Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) is a course developed to ensure a respectful learning environment at school.  It provides training and support systems for enhancing desirable behaviour and for understanding, preventing, and coping with undesirable behaviour. It emphasizes prevention of inappropriate and disruptive behaviour through awareness of factors affecting behaviour, recognition of early warning signs, and the use of calming / de-escalation techniques, but also teaches personal safety techniques for the rare instances when they are required. PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE UNRESTICTIVE CLOTHING AND RUNNING SHOES. All teachers who complete the required hours will receive certification in BMS.

Date: Wednesday, January 20 and Wednesday, January 27, 2016 (Participants must attend both sessions!)

Time: 3:30 – 4:25 Refreshments and networking with colleagues

4:30 – 7:30 Training workshop

Location: Durham District School Board (Board Room)Taunton Rd. Whitby

Cost: All costs are covered by the Local and DDSB
