CPR / AED & First Aid Training 

Occasional Teachers play an important role in school communities.  This training session is designed to support staff in this role.  Participants receive CPR-C Certification through the Life Saving Society upon completion.  In addition to receiving the certification, awareness of the other medical emergencies will be covered, including:

  • choking
  • allergic reactions / Sabrina’s Law
  • respiratory emergencies (asthma – Ryan’s Law), hyperventilation
  • bleeds
  • shock
  • diabetes
  • seizures
  • emergency scene management

NOTE:  THIS IS A 5-HOUR TRAINING SESSION AND PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PREPARED TO STAY FOR THE ENTIRE SESSION (asking to leave “a bit early” will result in not receiving certification).

DATE:  Friday, November 15, 2019 (PA Day – not Paid)

TIME:  9:00 am – 2:30 pm (includes 1/2 hour lunch – please bring your own lunch, snacks and water)

LOCATION:  Maxwell Heights Secondary School, Oshawa

PARTICIPATION: Limited to 20 members

NOTE:  This date is a PA Day.  OTs are NOT PAID for this day; however, the DDSB has agreed to make this training available.  This is an excellent training course and you will receive certification upon completion.
