Twenty (20) Day Requirement to Stay on the OT Roster for the 2017 – 2018 School Year

In a Letter of Understanding attached to our Collective Agreement, “For the 2016 – 2017 school year, subject to Board discretion, an Occasional Teacher shall be removed from the Occasional Teacher Roster if the Occasional Teacher does not teach for the Board for a minimum of twenty (20) days in one (1) school year.”

Please note: If you were granted an approved leave during the year, or were just hired, the twenty (20) day requirement shall be pro-rated from the ten (10) months accordingly. (e.g., 20 days over 10 months is an average of 2 days per month; if you were hired in November and only able to work 8 months, your requirement would be 16 days; if you were on maternity leave and came back to work in April, your requirement would be 6 days. This requirement applies only to members who are on the OT Roster (including the LTO List).

This Letter of Understanding supercedes Article L13.06 for the 2016 – 2017 school year regarding removal from the OT Roster should the OT refuse three (3) or more assignments or not answered calls on five (5) or more occasions within the school year.
