1 in 68 have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the rate is rising.
As occasional teachers, we frequently teach in classes with one – or more – students with ASD yet find ourselves unprepared to provide a rich learning experience for these students for a variety of reasons!
This workshop will provide you with the basics about ASD. You will engage in learning more about the common features of ASD and you will gain tips and strategies for working with students identified with ASD.
We are pleased to bring in a community organization to share their expertise with our members, many of whom work with children with ASD in their teaching day. We are planning another workshop on autism that will support this event and share strategies from a DDSB persepective.
