MOTION TO AMEND ARTICLE VII – LOCAL ORGANIZATION, SECTION 2 – COMMITTEES
Moved by: George Taylor
Seconded by: Karen Walker
BE IT RESOLVED THAT ARTICLE VII – – Local Organization, Section 2 – Committees be amended:
7.2.1 There shall be the following standing committees

- Political Action/Public Relations/Promotions (March 2011)
- Professional Development
7.2.1 There shall be the following standing committees:
- Collective Bargaining
- Equity (includes Status of Women)
- Political Action
- Professional Learning
This brings the constitution in line with current practice by adding both the Equity and Social committees. Public Relations is the purview of the President, while promotions involves the purchase of promotional items on an as needed basis (no committee necessary).
MOTION TO AMEND ARTICLE X –ELECTIONS, SECTION 1 – ELIGIBILITY
Moved by: John Fowler
Seconded by: Johanne Blake
BE IT RESOLVED THAT ARTICLE X –Elections, Section 1 – Eligibility be amended:
10.1.2 To stand for the office of President or First Vice-President, a candidate must have served at least one term previously on the ETFO Durham OT Local Executive.
Be amended by deletion
This article as it now reads, prevents all members in good standing from seeking nomination for these two positions. In fairness to all members of our local, there should be no restrictions on executive positions on which members wish to serve. It is up to the membership to decide who they wish to have them represented for the position of president and first vice-president.
