MOTION #2
MOTION TO AMEND ARTICLE X –ELECTIONS, SECTION 1 – ELIGIBILITY
Moved by: John Fowler
Seconded by: Johanne Blake
BE IT RESOLVED THAT ARTICLE X –Elections, Section 1 – Eligibility be amended:
10.1.2 To stand for the office of President or First Vice-President, a candidate must have served at least one term previously on the ETFO Durham OT Local Executive.
Be amended by deletion
RATIONALE:
This article as it now reads, prevents all members in good standing from seeking nomination for these two positions. In fairness to all members of our local, there should be no restrictions on executive positions on which members wish to serve. It is up to the membership to decide who they wish to have them represented for the position of president and first vice-president.
