If it is February, it must be our winter General Meeting! This year we want to start a new tradition and set aside time to honour some of our members who are retiring, as well as recognize those members who have made a significant contribution to the Local. We will also be launching our new website at the meeting and introducing members to the new secure “members only” section. Please join us to congratulate your colleagues and learn more about what the Local can do to support you in your chosen career
Agenda:
- To receive general and financial reports
- To discuss new business and concerns of the membership
- To receive a collective bargaining update
- To consider any constitutional amendments presented by the membership and/or the executive
- To honour career Occasional Teachers who are retiring from our Local
- To recognize and award members who have made a significant contribution to the Durham Occasional Teachers’ Local
- To consider any ETFO AGM Resolutions presented by the membership and/or executive
Constitutional Amendments:
The current Constitution is available on our website at www.etfodotl.com. The link is on the right side of the homepage. The Constitutional Amendments Form is available at our website at www.etfodotl.com in the ‘Forms’ section.
As per the Constitution, any amendments must be received by the President no later than (noon) twenty (20) days prior to the meeting on the designated form. (January 27, 2016) Any amendments will be published to the membership via email no later than fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting. (February 3, 2016)

Resolutions to the ETFO AGM:
The ETFO Annual General Meeting will be held in Toronto August 15 – 18, 2016. At this meeting, Locals may submit resolutions to change the Bylaws or Constitution of the ETFO. To do so, the resolution must first be voted upon at the Local’s General Meeting (ours to be held Feb. 18). If you wish to submit a resolution for consideration, please send it to:info@etfodotl.com no later than January 27, 2016 so it can be published to the membership by email prior to the meeting.

The Local will vote on delegates to attend the ETFO AGM at our Local AGM to be held in May. Further details about this process will be sent out closer to the date.
