Reducing OT Stress in Challenging Situations

Our Durham Occasional Teachers’ Local is pleased to have presenter Asha Mohindra, a participant in OTF’s learning coop program and a former DOTL member, present this important professional learning opportunity.

Occasional Teacher Wellness Workshop

This workshop is a result of research conducted through the Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) in the area of teacher well being, specifically for Occasional Teachers.  This research includes findings from prominent researchers in the fields of neuroscience and positive psychology.

In this workshop you will gain understanding and insight into some of the unique stresses experienced by OTs and their effect on health and job performance.

You will develop an awareness of how your own processes contribute to the experience of stress and negative emotions.

You will gain strategies to prevent and rebound from the effects of challenging interactions in the classroom.

(This session is funded by a grant from the OTF and supported by the Ministry of Education.)
