Occasional teaching is a very challenging occupation made all the more difficult when students are uncooperative and give the OT “a hard time.” Whether little tykes in kindergarten or the “big kids” in grade eight, acting out students can make for long and stressful days. This workshop will look at why students act out and how we can change our own approach for positive outcomes that allow us to teach successfully. We will explore several effective strategies and problem solve situations that cause us concern. You will leave with renewed confidence and lots of ideas to use in your daily practise.
