The Holidays are over and it is time for our winter General Meeting. Last year we started a new tradition of setting aside time to honour some of our members who are retiring. Although we planned to do so again this year, unfortunately this will be postponed to our AGM in May as our retired member was unable to attend. Come out and learn more about the Local and what we can do to support you in your chosen career.
Agenda:
- To receive general and financial reports
- To discuss new business and concerns of the membership
- To receive a collective bargaining update
- To consider constitutional amendments presented by the membership and/or the executive
- To consider ETFO AGM Resolutions presented by the membership and/or executive
Constitutional Amendments:
The proposed Constitutional amendments have been sent to members by separate email. Please read them over as you will be asked to vote to accept or reject the amendments. The DOTL constitution is available on our website at www.etfodotl.com. The link is available in the secure side of the website under the Member Information tab. If you do not yet have access, please email firstvp@etfodotl.com.
No further amendments can be accepted at this time. As per the Constitution, any amendments had to be received by the President no later than (noon) twenty (20) days prior to the meeting on the designated form. (January 27, 2017) The amendments were published to the membership via email no later than fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting. (February 2, 2017)
If you have any questions, please call 905-404-0411 or 1-888-665-6611.
Resolutions to the ETFO AGM:
The ETFO Annual Meeting will be held in Toronto August 14 – 17, 2017. At this meeting, Locals may submit resolutions to change the Bylaws or Constitution of the ETFO. To do so, the resolution must first be voted upon at the Local’s General Meeting. We will be voting to bring a Resolution forward to the ETFO Annual Meeting at our General Meeting.
The Local will vote on delegates to attend the ETFO AM at our Local AGM to be held in May. Further details about this process will be sent out closer to the date.
We look forward to seeing you on February 16th!
