This session will introduce Occasional Teachers to practical ways of supporting Multilingual Language Learners (MLLs) using AI and a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach. Participants will explore classroom-ready tools and strategies that promote inclusive, differentiated learning. The session will also clarify what it means to supply for an MLL Coach or In-School Teacher, with a focus on maintaining routines and ensuring continuity of programming for MLLs.

Participants will explore some key foundations on how to engage with families, with a particular emphasis on effective communication. Through interactive activities, teachers will review communication strategies to help support engagement and build trust with parents and caregivers.

DDSB NTIP facilitator Sarah Dunstall will be presenting this important workshop. Whether you are in an LTO or a daily OT, interacting with parents in some capacity is part of the job. Sarah will explore how to engage families to be an integral part of your classroom (the home being an extension of school) and how to communicate effectively with families, parents and caregivers.
