DDSB NTIP facilitator Sarah Dunstall will be presenting this important workshop. Whether you are in an LTO or a daily OT, interacting with parents in some capacity is part of the job. Sarah will explore how to engage families to be an integral part of your classroom (the home being an extension of school) and how to communicate effectively with families, parents and caregivers. In-camera Durham OT Local Executive Meeting
Over 600 ETFO members from across the province attend the ETFO Annual Meeting to receive reports of the officers and committees, to elect officers, to receive financial statements and to debate and vote on motions.

Have you ever been in a class with no structure, no rules, no organization? It is extremely important to ensure all of these exist in your classroom. Let me show you how to thrive in your LTO. It is easier than you think.
Join your DOTL PL committee for the last workshop of the 2024-2025 school year. Presenter Candice Holt will be giving tips and tools and strategies to help make your LTO a success. You may even get some interview talking points. AS always there will be refreshments and a door prize. We look forward to seeing you there.

IEPs and Report Cards through PowerTeacher Pro: participants will get a general overview of the development of an IEP and how they connect to report cards. We will take examples of modifications and show how they are reflected on the report card. Teachers will also get an overview of how to use PowerTeacher Pro to complete reports.

Please join your PL committee in welcoming presenter Donna Graham from Kerry’s Place Autism Services. Donna will present this workshop which will help participants describe autism, identify strengths of people with autism and describe how strengths can be used as an opportunity for learning.

DOTL Annual Meeting and Dinner

How frustrating is it to go into a class and there are no lesson plans? Plus the students are coming in soon. There’s no need to panic, the day can still be successful. Take a deep breath. Create a lesson plan in about 15 minutes with the information, techniques and materials you will receive during this workshop.

| The Durham permanent teachers’ local and the Durham permanent ECE local have invited the Durham OT local join them in this amazing opportunity. The Durham OT local is only able to accept 20 participants for this workshop. It is very important that if you register, you attend. We are paying for a copy of the book and part of the presenters’ fee. If you register and find you can no longer attend please email as soon as you can so we can offer the spot to other members. **If you do not attend and give no notice you will be responsible for the cost of the book.

This workshop will focus on strategies to help OTs and LTOs to prevent allegations, we will look at and hear about real life disciplines that have occurred within the DDSB and participants may be able to share their experiences with classroom management and situations that may have impacted them directly.
